Let us consider a centrifugal pump is coupled to a motor and it is in running. Vibration analysis can detect following defects from a running centrifugal pump.

      1. Misalignment between motor and pump
      2. Bent shaft as well as location of bend
      3. Faulty bearing (Dent in inner race, dent in outer race, dent in the ball/roller,
      4. Impeller unbalance
      5. Eccentricity in impeller
      6. Structural looseness
      7. Resonance
      8. Mechanical looseness
      9. Pipe strain
      10. Cavitation
